Ross Elementary is Excited to Welcome Danielle Legg as Principal

Dear Ross Elementary Parents/Guardians,

I’m writing to let you know about administrative changes at Ross Elementary School for the 2021-2022 school year.  Principal Amy Bay has accepted an opportunity to continue expanding her administrative portfolio, and will be moving into an administrative position at SFA Middle School.  Additionally, Angela Williams will be moving to Crockett Elementary School to serve as Assistant Principal.  Aubrey Rives, Assistant Principal, and Counselor Kristy Weintraub will remain at Ross to ensure continuity.

I’m excited to announce that Danielle Legg, a veteran Bryan ISD principal, will be taking over as principal at Ross Elementary.  Ms. Legg has spent the last 10 years leading Henderson Elementary School.  During her time at that campus, she successfully oversaw the growth of the dual English-Spanish language program, and helped new families feel at home in their new elementary school following rezoning in the 2017-2018 school year.

Ms. Legg is a strong leader who sets high expectations for her students and teachers, and then guides them to meet those expectations.  I’m excited for you to get to know her this summer and at the start of the next school year.

Ms. Legg will begin the transition to Ross Elementary following the end of this school year.  We’re looking forward to an excellent 2021-2022 school year at Ross Elementary School.

Dr. Christie Whitbeck

Bryan ISD Superintendent
